Role Overview:

The General Accountant cum Tax Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring full compliance with local tax regulations and financial reporting standards. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and ensuring timely tax filings and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.

  • Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including preparation and timely submission of VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, and other statutory filings.

  • Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and regulatory bodies when required.

  • Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting processes.

  • Maintain fixed asset registers and oversee depreciation schedules.

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and controls.

  • Support internal and external audit processes.

  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decision-making.

Job requirements

Candidate Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  2. Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.

  3. Minimum 4–5 years of relevant accounting and tax experience, preferably in hospitality, large-scale operations, or project-based environments.

  4. Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and local tax legislation.

  5. Experience in accounting software and ERP systems.

  6. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  7. Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple priorities effectively.

  8. High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
