Role Overview:

The Director of Sales & Marketing will lead the overall commercial strategy for the Convention Center and future hotel operations, driving revenue growth, brand positioning, and market penetration locally and internationally. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales, marketing, and revenue plans to position Palazzo Ezulwini as the leading events and hospitality destination in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement the overall sales and marketing strategy aligned with business objectives.

  2. Establish annual budgets, revenue forecasts, and performance targets.

  3. Lead proactive sales efforts targeting MICE, corporate, government, association, and international event markets.

  4. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, travel trade, event organizers, and government entities.

  5. Oversee brand positioning, digital marketing, PR, advertising, and promotional campaigns.

  6. Drive lead generation strategies, including international roadshows, trade exhibitions, and strategic partnerships.

  7. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies to ensure competitive positioning.

  8. Lead, mentor, and develop the Sales & Marketing team to achieve high performance.

  9. Collaborate closely with Operations and Finance to ensure commercial strategies align with service delivery and profitability goals.

Job requirements

Candidate Profile:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  2. Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in Sales & Marketing leadership within hospitality, convention centers, or large-scale mixed-use developments.

  3. Strong experience in pre-opening projects and revenue strategy development is highly desirable.

  4. Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and driving market share growth.

  5. Strong network within MICE, corporate, and government sectors.

  6. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.

  7. Strong analytical abilities with experience in budgeting and forecasting.

  8. Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
